Grading System - Seeking Input

Posted by Sheridan on Thu, May 15, 2008 at 6:31 AM PST

I’d like to come up with some kind of grading system for these screenplays, because some are legit screenplays that have been scanned or exported digitally from the source, others are converted from pre-exisiting crap files like text files or html files, like Trainspotting, which really annoys me. And some of the scanned files are really bad quality, like Eszterhas’ Jade. I’ve kind of started this by stating if they are Scanned or Digital, but I’d like to take it a step further with the details.

So does anyone have any ideas for a simple, user-friendly grading scale that would cover all of these concerns? Leave a comment if so. Let’s discuss.

UPDATE! Check out the Unproduced page. I added a “Notes” section to each description detailing quality, number of pages, and anything else worth noting. I also changed the source to “Scanned/Xeroxed” or “Scanned to Digital” to more specifically describe the origin.

How is that? Better? Anything I should add?

Eddie Izzard & Updates

Posted by Sheridan on Wed, May 14, 2008 at 2:03 PM PST

I’m actually in West Virginia this week and I drove to Columbus, Ohio last night to catch the Eddie Izzard show at the Palace Theater. If anyone has the chance to catch his show this tour, I highly recommend you do so! It’s awesome and he has an entire giraffe/tiger bit that is absolutely hilarious.

Many, many thanks to miken. He’s accepted the ginormous task of helping me redo the Screenplays page. It should be back up “soon”, but for now just keep using the Index: pdfscreenplays.net/screenplays

Several people have passed on their advice about scripts that are “currently in production”, so I created a “Blacklist” page for those scripts. Check it out to see how blacklisted scripts will be handled from now on. I apologize for making you guys wait for the scripts, but you like this site, right? Yeah, me too, and the last thing I want is some legal trouble over a script.

You guys are animals! I’m receiving around a dozen scripts a day. Here’s the latest batch of updates.

Well &^$#!

That figures, right? After about 12 hours of work something f’ed up on the Screenplays page. Guess I’ll start over from the beginning on it, of course implementing a backup feature this time………

For now just use the Screenplays Index: pdfscreenplays.net/screenplays

“Whoa.” (in my best Keanu Reeves)

Posted by Sheridan on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 1:27 PM PST

As of this moment, I have about 30 brand new (as in not available anywhere else!) screenplays to add to the site! Many, many, many thanks to SimplyScripts for giving me a nice write up, which has sent a bunch of traffic and all of these scripts my way.

I’m working on getting the scripts added to the site and should have an update later this evening detailing what’s been added exactly. I also have an incredible script that I promise is a hulk of an exclusive and I’ve been asked to not post it until June 13th… can you guess what it is!?

Also, I’ve added a new page for my wanted scripts and details about submitting scripts to me, so please check that out before you send me anything.

Finally, many thanks to everyone sending me scripts. Keep it up!

UPDATE! You guys are sending scripts faster than I can update. I have well over 50 scripts to add now. Here’s a list of what I’ve added:

Some of you are sending me duplicates of scripts I’m in the process of adding or scripts people have already sent, if you’re not credited for something you’ve sent it may be because of that, but I’ll do my best to credit everyone.

ANOTHER UPDATE! Now that I officially have carpal tunnel syndrome I think I’m going to call it a day. I uploaded some other scripts not listed in the list above, but it’s scripts you can already find elsewhere online.

You guys are great! I’m very surprised at the response this site has generated. I thought I would be filling a void with a PDF only site, but didn’t realize just how many of your prefer PDFs just like me. I received over 50 scripts today alone. And all together I have around 110 scripts left to add to the site. As Darth Vader would say, “Impressive… most impressive.”

Updates & Comic Books!

Posted by Sheridan on Sun, May 11, 2008 at 2:41 AM PST

There’s now a page for comic book scripts. I found them over at The Comic Book Script Archive and even converted some of their .doc files over to PDF format. If anyone has any, or finds any, or converts any to PDF format, feel free to e-mail them to me and I’ll get them on the page.

I’ve also updated the Treatments, TV Shows, & Unproduced pages as well. There shouldn’t be any dead links now… I hope.

I’m still looking for any of the screenplays listed in the previous post, especially Hitchcock’s “Rope”.

Wow!

Posted by Sheridan on Fri, May 9, 2008 at 12:47 AM PST

I received some awesome surprises in my Inbox today. A wonderful person named Dabrast sent me 6 screenplays!

3:10 To Yuma (2007 Version) Many thanks to PC!
Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The
Jumper Thanks to Jesse for both drafts!
- June 23, 2005 Draft by David S. Goyer.
- August 24, 2006 “Blue in Progress” Draft by Simon Kinberg.
Master and Commander: Far Side of the World Thanks to Drew!
Mist, The Thanks to Drew again!

I wasn’t expecting to have any firsts or exclusives this soon after launching. Not too shabby for only having the site online for a couple days, so many thanks again to everyone credited! You can download the scripts on the Screenplays page, which I finished today, by the way. I’ll be adding more scripts randomly. If anyone has any suggestions about what they would like to see listed in the details for the scripts or any site features feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me: info@pdfscreenplays.net

I converted The Replacements (Second Draft) from rtf format to PDF and added a cover page, if anyone is interested.

Welcome!

As a student of film, I usually look for screenplays in PDF format so that I can study and break them down by page, or print them, so html or text files annoy me greatly. I created this site mostly for my own personal use, so that I can access the screenplays from anywhere, but feel free to download and link to whatever you like.

This website is a project in development, so things will be updated randomly and often. If you’d like to donate some time and help me with this site, please don’t hesitate to contact me! Either leave a comment or e-mail me here: info@pdfscreenplays.net

Also, I’m currently looking for these screenplays in PDF format:

3:10 To Yuma 2007 Version
Jumper Any and all versions. Early versions especially.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
The Mist
THX 1138

And does anyone have any scripts from The Prisoner TV Show?
